Lukas Cubirka

Lukas joined the Spao Ottobock Care team as a technician in 2026 after completing his degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics at La Trobe University. His pathway into the industry began during his earlier studies in industrial design, where a final-year project focused on low-cost, customisable prosthetic solutions sparked a long-standing interest in limb difference and rehabilitation. Living with an upper-limb difference himself, Lucas brings valuable lived experience, creativity, and empathy to his work, alongside a strong belief in person-first care. Passionate about learning the technical foundations of prosthetics & orthotics, he sees hands-on workshop experience as essential to becoming a skilled clinician and has a clear goal of specializing in upper-limb prosthetics. Outside of work, Lukas is a self-described skate and surf enthusiast, spending his time bodyboarding, surfing, skateboarding, drawing, and making things- always driven by curiosity, creativity, and a positive attitude.
